Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Job Opening

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers of the Visually Impaired for a full-time role with school districts in the Concord, NC area. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled professional dedicated to helping students with visual impairments achieve academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in various educational settings.
• Modify curriculum and classroom materials to ensure accessibility for students.
• Conduct vision assessments and work collaboratively to create Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Instruct students in braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility techniques.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to implement effective learning strategies.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding students with disabilities.
• Maintain documentation of student progress and provide ongoing support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Visual Impairments.
• State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
• Previous experience working with visually impaired students is preferred.
• Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of braille instruction and assistive technology is a plus.
