Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers of the Visually Impaired for a full-time role with school districts in the Concord, NC area. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled professional dedicated to helping students with visual impairments achieve academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized instruction to students with visual impairments in various educational settings.
- Modify curriculum and classroom materials to ensure accessibility for students.
- Conduct vision assessments and work collaboratively to create Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Instruct students in braille, assistive technology, and orientation and mobility techniques.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to implement effective learning strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations regarding students with disabilities.
- Maintain documentation of student progress and provide ongoing support.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Special Education with a concentration in Visual Impairments.
- State certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired.
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students is preferred.
- Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of braille instruction and assistive technology is a plus.
