Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Position in School Setting

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced Teachers for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time role with school districts in the Derby, KS area. We are seeking dedicated professionals passionate about empowering students with hearing impairments to achieve their educational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students’ needs.

• Utilize specialized instructional strategies and assistive technology to enhance student learning.

• Foster an inclusive classroom environment that supports language development and communication.

• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to ensure student success.

• Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.

• Provide direct instruction in speechreading, sign language, and other communication techniques.

• Advocate for students' needs and assist in creating accessible learning materials.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.

• Valid state certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and instructional skills.
