Job Title: Special Education Teacher (Contracted Position)
Location: Colorado Springs, CO
Pay Range: $32 - $48 per hour
Employment Type: Contract
School Year: Positions available for this current school year, 2024 - 2025, and next school year, 2025 - 2026.

Position Overview:

As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in creating inclusive learning environments for students with special needs. You will work closely with students, parents, and school staff to provide individualized instruction and accommodations to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs.
  • Provide differentiated instruction and specialized support for students with disabilities.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum to ensure accessibility and engagement.
  • Conduct assessments and track student progress towards IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to foster student success.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, IEP meetings, and assessments.
  • Utilize various instructional strategies and assistive technologies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Support students in developing life skills, social-emotional competencies, and independence.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal special education laws and regulations.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid state teaching license with a Special Education endorsement.
  • Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings preferred.
  • Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based instructional strategies and behavioral interventions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently while managing caseload and documentation effectively.
