Job: Licensed Deaf/Hard of Hearing Counselor
Where: Santa Maria, California
Our school is actively interviewing for a School Counselor or Social Worker with ASL interpreting fluency for the 2024 - 2025 school year. Please see the details below:
What You Need:
- A master's degree from a graduate school of social work program
- Active California Social Work/LMFT Licensure/Certification
- Deaf/Hard of hearing credentials or Sign Language Interpreting skills
- Familiarity with the Deaf community and ASL, deep understanding of DHH needs
- Prior school-based experience is preferred but not required
Details about the position:
- Hours: 37.5 hours/wk
- Start Date: ASAP
- End Date: May 30, 2025
- Caseload: Deaf/hearing impaired students
- Duties:
- 30 minute counseling sessions with two students
- Provide assessments, direct services, and support to students' social-emotional needs.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to implement interventions and strategies to support students' well-being and academic success.
