Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Speech Language Pathologists for full-time positions within school districts in the Des Plaines, Illinois area. We are seeking qualified professionals who are passionate about helping students overcome communication barriers and reach their full academic potential.
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet all of the following to be considered:
Hold a Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
Possess an active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Speech Language Pathology (non-teaching or teaching)
Have professional experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in a school or pediatric setting
Local and State Requirements:
Candidates must comply with all Illinois and district-level regulations, including:
Active PEL with Speech Language Pathologist endorsement issued by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE)
Valid license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
Completion of a state-approved graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology
Successful completion of the Praxis Exam in Speech-Language Pathology
Background clearance through FBI fingerprinting and Illinois State Police
Up-to-date TB test and health screening as required by the district
Typical Responsibilities Include:
Conducting speech and language assessments and evaluations
Developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
Providing direct speech-language therapy services to students
Collaborating with educators, parents, and support staff
Maintaining detailed documentation and progress reports
Ensuring compliance with IDEA, state standards, and school policies
