School Sign Language Interpreter

Blazer Jobs is seeking multiple full-time Sign Language Interpreters for onsite positions at the School for the Blind and Stony Point North. These roles involve providing communication support for students who are deaf and blind, ensuring access to educational content and social interactions.

Job Responsibilities

• Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language (ASL) and vice versa.

• Provide visual and tactile interpreting services for students who are deaf and blind.

• Collaborate with educators and support staff to facilitate inclusive learning.

• Assist with communication during classroom instruction and social interactions.

Qualifications

• Active SLI licensure required for the School for the Blind roles.

• ASL-proficient paraprofessionals will be considered for the Stony Point North role only.

• Previous experience working with students who are deaf, blind, or have multiple disabilities preferred.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
