 Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support a male student in a wheelchair within a functional curriculum class. This role requires both academic and personal care assistance, ensuring the student's safety and engagement throughout the school day.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to a student using a manual and power wheelchair
• Assist with personal care needs (changing 3x per day)—training provided by the PT
• Ensure the student’s safety while navigating the powerchair, preventing collisions
• Support classroom participation and engagement in daily activities
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and support staff to enhance the student’s learning experience

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with students with disabilities is preferred
• Ability to assist with personal care tasks
• Patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills
