Blazer Jobs is actively seeking a compassionate, reliable, and qualified School Paraprofessional for a full-time role in Franklin Park, IL, for the 2024–2025 and 2025–2026 academic school years. This is a great opportunity for experienced paraprofessionals or teacher’s aides who are passionate about education, special education support, and student success in a school-based setting.

Job Description:

As a Paraprofessional (also known as a Teacher’s Aide or Instructional Assistant), you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in the classroom. You’ll assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior support strategies, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support for students, including those with special needs

  • Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities and lesson plans

  • Support the implementation of IEPs, 504 Plans, and behavior intervention strategies

  • Foster student independence and classroom engagement

  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and staff

  • Collaborate with educators, parents, and school personnel to support student development

  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children or students in a classroom or special education setting preferred

  • Familiarity with special education practices is a plus

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

  • Patience, empathy, and a student-centered mindset

  • High school diploma or equivalent required (associate degree or paraprofessional certification preferred)
