Position: School Paraprofessional
Location: Franklin Park, IL
Job Type: Full-Time
School Years: 2024–2025 and 2025–2026
As a Paraprofessional (also known as a Teacher’s Aide or Instructional Assistant), you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in the classroom. You’ll assist in the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior support strategies, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
Provide one-on-one and small group support for students, including those with special needs
Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities and lesson plans
Support the implementation of IEPs, 504 Plans, and behavior intervention strategies
Foster student independence and classroom engagement
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and staff
Collaborate with educators, parents, and school personnel to support student development
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
Previous experience working with children or students in a classroom or special education setting preferred
Familiarity with special education practices is a plus
Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Patience, empathy, and a student-centered mindset
High school diploma or equivalent required (associate degree or paraprofessional certification preferred)
