Fort Washington, MD | Paraprofessionals (Para) Needed for K-12 Classrooms

We are hiring multiple paraprofessionals to join our district in Fort Washington, MD! Our paras will be assisting our special education classrooms in support based roles. If you are interested, please read the description below and apply.

Duration: ASAP - June 2025
Full Time: 32 - 35 hours/week
Caseload:K-12 Special Education Students

Job Duties

• Individualized Instructional Support: Assist the student with understanding and completing classroom assignments, adapting materials when necessary to align with the student's IEP goals.
• Behavioral Support: Implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and support positive behavior reinforcement strategies.
• Social Skills Development: Encourage and support peer interactions and socialization, fostering independence in social settings.
• Personal Care Assistance: Help with daily living activities as needed, such as mobility, eating, toileting, and personal hygiene, in accordance with the student's physical needs.
• Classroom Integration: Facilitate the student's participation in classroom activities, adapting instructions and tasks to ensure inclusion in general education or special education settings.

Requirements:

• 1 Year Experience with Children as an Teacher Assistant/Paraprofessional or equivalent
• Associate's Degree or unofficial transcript with 60 college credits
• Must have reliable transportation

Hourly Pay: $22-24+
