Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher Stockton, CA

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adaptive Physical Education (APE) Teacher to join our team in Stockton, CA. This role involves working with students in a K-12 caseload, providing specialized physical education instruction tailored to students with varying physical abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized physical education programs for students with special needs.

• Provide instruction in adaptive sports, physical activities, and fitness to students of all abilities.

• Modify and adapt lesson plans and activities to meet the physical and educational needs of students with disabilities.

• Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and other staff to support students' overall development.

• Foster a positive and inclusive environment where students can grow socially, emotionally, and physically.

• Ensure the safety of students during activities and maintain proper documentation of student progress and achievements.

• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on students' progress and physical development.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Special Education, or a related field.

• California Teaching Credential with authorization to teach Adaptive Physical Education (APE).

• Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a school setting.

• Strong understanding of adaptive sports and physical activities.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, therapists, and families to support student needs.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
