Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Paraprofessional to join our educational team in Glendale, AZ. The Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and staff to support students' learning and personal development, assisting in classroom activities, individualized instruction, and student behavior management. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping students succeed academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the classroom teacher in implementing lesson plans and activities.
- Work one-on-one or with small groups of students to provide academic support and reinforce learning concepts.
- Assist in the management of classroom behavior, using positive reinforcement and intervention strategies.
- Help prepare instructional materials and classroom resources.
- Support students with special needs by implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and accommodations.
- Supervise students during non-instructional times, such as lunch, recess, or field trips.
- Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to provide a consistent and nurturing learning environment.
- Monitor and document student progress and behavior as directed by the teacher.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework or an associate degree in education or a related field is preferred).
- Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from teachers and school staff.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with students.
- Ability to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Must pass a background check and have the necessary clearances as required by the district.
